Yuma Abe – Hotel New Yuma

Yuma Abe presents “Hotel New Yuma,” the latest album from the vocalist and guitarist of Tokyo-based band never young beach.

Japan of the 1950s and 1960s has had such a profound influence on Yuma, so much so that he wishes he could go back to that era to touch, smell, and see it for himself. Instead, Yuma has reinterpreted and recreated the era for himself. The result is “Hotel New Yuma.”

The setting is Hotel New Yuma, located on a southern island. Yuma Abe is the hotel manager. This work is a collection of theme songs for a popular variety show that is loved by the island’s residents, young and old, men and women, and watched by the whole family.

We are on a warm island, somewhere south of the country. There is only one hotel here – Hotel New Yuma. The hotel manager’s name is Yuma Abe. There is a variety show that took place at this hotel, hosted by none other than Yuma Abe, the hotel manager himself. The 30 minute program was broadcast live each Friday night from 11:15 p.m. and welcomed a variety of guests, with comedy, singing, recitations, and conversations. In keeping with a theme for each program, short skits were performed with dancing, singing, and musical performances inserted in between. Sometimes the singers would perform in the skits, or the comedians would perform a song or two. The program was well-paced, stylish, and exotic.

Despite its late start time, the program was loved by the residents of the island, young and old, men and women, and was watched by the whole family.
