The latest in the prolific output of Copenhagen’s talented Jonas Torstensen, better known as Franciska. Those already familiar with Franciska’s output from the past couple years on Janushoved and Discreet Music will find that signature style of tape-work here as well. ‘Afvikling’ offers up 7 tracks of fractured tape loops, field recordings and delicate piano interludes. Beautifully lo-fi and carefully arranged, these are brief but meditative vignettes on a time and place. ‘Afvikling’ is an audio diary that depicts a once-existing world for the listener. In the ever-growing tape-music genre, Francisika’s unqiuely contemplative recordings stand out as authentic as ever.
Recycled tapes, recycled tape cases, silk-screened/hand-stamped labels, and three color j-cards printed on recycled paper.
