“Auf dem schwarzen Kanal” is one of the most outstanding and sought-after releases in Conrad Schnitzler’s extensive catalog. Released in 1980 as the only one of Schnitzler’s records on a major label, this maxi and especially the title track was a flirtation with the experimental New Wave that was emerging at the same time and yet sounded more idiosyncratic than any other music at that time. The four tracks, created together with Wolfgang Seidel and recorded in Peter Baumann’s Berlin Paragon Studio, are a biting, dissonant mutant disco trip that has lost none of its fascination to this day. Bureau B is delighted to finally make this long out-of-print work available again!
