“This recording is inspired by the concept of ‘Self-Replicating Machines’ conceived by John von Neumann (December 28, 1903 – February 8, 1957).
I first read of the idea in the 1983 book ‘The Super Intelligent Machine – An Electronic Odyssey’ by Adrian Berry.” “The first vinyl release on United Dairies in over 20 years!
The ‘Through Time’ series is based on ideas around the concept of time, the passage of time, time travel and also in part on the writings of John von Neumann, specifically his ideas on the self-reproducing universal constructor and his lecture ‘The General and Logical Theory of Automata’.”
